our Story

Mosaic Church of Aurora was created in August of 2012 as God opened the eyes of Reid Hettich to the needs of the North Urban Aurora community and the opportunity and initial funding provided by The Wesleyan Church denomination. The dream that emerged was of a multi ethnic, economically diverse, community focused church.

Our Vision: To see people and communities transformed from broken to beautiful through the power and presence of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission: To be the hands, feet and voice of Jesus in Original Aurora.

The vision of holistic community development was further clarified in conversations between Reid and Maisha Fields. Although there were differences in their backgrounds and organizations, a closely shared passion and strategy developed to provide opportunities for the people of Urban Aurora to become all that God created them to be. It was clear that the partnership was mutually beneficial to the two entities as well as the community at large.

In August of 2013 the building at 1445 Dayton Street was purchased. In June of 2014 the two groups formed the Dayton Street Opportunity Center, LLC and began remodeling the building. The Dayton Street Opportunity Center opened in March 2015.
